Each week we will venture onto the Great Hill conservation land next to the Museum and practice our science and naturalism skills together. Identify trees\, search for bugs and slugs\, and slow down to notice the rhythm of forest life. Our learning and exploration will build across all three sessions and focus on developing skills like observation\, making inferences\, communicating\, classifying\, and measuring. This program is rain or shine but will be cancelled for extreme inclement weather. \nWhen: Sundays\, September 17\, 24\, and October 1; 10:00am – 11:30am. Attendees should plan to attend and participate in all three sessions. \nFor whom: This program is for kids 6-9 years of age and their caregiver(s) to do together. DESCRIPTION:The Farm Market at Mill No. 5 features fresh produce from local farms as well as other artisan food makers such as fresh made breads\, eggs\, meat\, cheese\, yogurt\, jams\, pickles\, mead\, hot sauces\, and so much more! The Farm Market runs every Sunday 10 am – 1 PM. From June through October the market is held outdoors on Jackson St. During the winter months\, the market is held on the fourth floor of Mill No. 5 amongst a variety of other local businesses. \nThe Farm Market also features local live music every week. It is fun for the whole family.

SUMMARY:Art in the Park with Jean Winslow: SoulMapping
DESCRIPTION:SoulMapping is a practice based on SoulCollage\, an art form that combines collage and personal imagery. It doesn’t require any special art experience\, just a desire to create beautiful and meaningful images that will serve as guides on life’s journey. There will be a sharing of the images included at the end of the session. \nSuggested Audience \nAdults 18 and up \nSupplies/ Equipment Required \nNone; all will be provided by Lowell National Historical Park \nAbout the Artist \nJean Winslow is an artist who is also an art therapist and clinician in private practice with over 40 years working with individuals and groups. She has been offering SoulMapping groups in her studio for the past nine years and has her own SoulMapping and journaling practice that she recommends to all those who attend SoulCollage/SoulMapping workshops. \nAbout Art in the Park \nJoin LNHP and diverse local artists for our Art in the Park series of plein air (outdoors) art workshops. Under the guidance and teaching of local artists\, we will use Lowell as a backdrop for inspiration and expression. Join in to grow your creative skill in different mediums\, from drawing and watercolor to portrait work and acrylic painting. Lowell is a City of Artists – Each artist will bring their own expertise to share with you and help facilitate your own process of creating. \nPlease note the age guidance for each workshop -some workshops are more well-suited to younger artists and family groups than others. The program is free\, but space is limited\, and reservations are required. Please call 978-970-5000 to reserve a spot. \nMost programs will be outdoors\, with either rain locations or rain dates. Some programs may require participants to bring their own supplies\, although LNHP strives to provide supplies when possible. Participants are encouraged to bring their own preferred art supplies if appropriate. \nAbout The Brush Art Gallery & Studios \nThe Brush Art Gallery & Studios (https://www.thebrush.org/) is located in the Lowell National Historical Park across the courtyard from the Visitor Center. This dynamic and captivating place was originally founded by the Lowell Historic Preservation Commission\, U.S. Department of the Interior. The Brush presents museum quality exhibitions\, educational programs\, and has collaborated with many other nonprofit groups. Artists occupy studio spaces to interact with and educate the public on a weekly basis. Currently\, eleven studio artists produce paintings\, illustration\, photography\, jewelry\, sculpture\, ceramics\, quilts\, and handwoven items. Associate artists display work in the common area. The Brush Art Gallery and Studios is a nonprofit\, 501(c)(3) organization. The Brush is supported by the Lowell National Historical Park.
