SUMMARY:The Whistler House Museum of Art: Annual Juried Members Exhibition 2024 - CLOSED from Sunday\, December 22nd to Tuesday\, January 7th for the holiday season.
DESCRIPTION:The Whistler House Museum of Art (WHMA) is pleased to announce its upcoming Annual Juried Members Exhibition 2024. The show will run from November 16\, 2024 to January 25\, 2025. An opening reception will be held on Saturday\, November 16\, from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Parker Gallery. \nThe Lowell Art Association\, Inc. (LAA) is the oldest incorporated art association in the country. In this year’s Annual Juried Members Exhibition\, explore works of art from the artist members of the LAA in a wide range of subjects\, styles\, and mediums. Through paintings\, drawings\, sculpture\, fiber art\, printmaking\, and photography\, experience the world through varying perspectives in this exciting new show. \nThe juror is Stephen Mishol\, Chair for the Department of Art & Design at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Mishol holds a BFA and MFA in Painting from the Massachusetts College of Art. \nHe is a recipient of a Fulbright Research Grant\, Artist Resource Trust Grant\, and two Mass Cultural Council Artist Fellowships. His work is included in the permanent collections of the DeCordova Museum\, Boston Public Library\, Fidelity Investments of Boston\, and many private collections. SUMMARY:Shamrock New Year’s Day Race
DESCRIPTION:Race starts at 12:00pm at the Irish American Club on Main Street in Woburn. We’ll celebrate the New Year post-race with a potluck lunch – bring chili or snacks to share! Cash bar.\nAge groups are as follows: 19+\, 20-29\, 30-39\, 40-49\, 50-59\, 60-69\, 70+ \nAfter-party at the Irish-American Club! We will provide pizza\,\nsnacks\, desserts\, and non-alcoholic drinks; the bar at the IA will be open.\nParticipants may bring chili and treats to share if they’d like\, and we ask all\nparticipants bring a non-perishable donation for the Woburn Council of Social\nConcern. \nThe Shamrock Running Club’s mission is to build community and improve health through running. We come together to support and inspire each other\, celebrate our successes\, and reach for whatever our next goals may be. We support our community through charitable contributions as well as events designed to share our love of running with others\, inclusive of all abilities and experience. The Bill Feeney Memorial Scholarship: Every year the Shamrock Running Club awards two scholarships to High School Senior students who participate in cross country\, indoor and/or outdoor track.
