SUMMARY:Exhibition: A Perpetual Invitation: 150 Years of Art at the Concord Free Public Library
DESCRIPTION:In honor of the Concord Free Public Library’s 150th anniversary\, the Concord Museum and the Library have collaborated on a special exhibition featuring the Library’s art collection. Featured objects will include paintings by Washington Allston\, N.C. Wyeth\, May Alcott Nieriker\, Charles Hovey Pepper\, Alicia Keyes\, and Elizabeth Wentworth Roberts\, among other artists\, as well as sculptures depicting noted Concord authors such as Nathaniel Hawthorne\, Henry David Thoreau\, and Louisa May Alcott. \nThe exhibition will also highlight Concord’s artist communities\, local art collectors\, the history of institutions promoting public access to works of art\, and the stories of specific artists who lived and worked in Concord. \nCurator tours will be offered Friday\, March 24\, at 11:00 a.m. and 2 p.m. and Friday\, March 31\, at 11:00 a.m. and 2 p.m. \nFree with Museum admission. SUMMARY:Art in the Park with Paul Richardson: Photography in the Park
DESCRIPTION:About Art in the Park \nJoin LNHP and diverse local artists for our Art in the Park series of plein air (outdoors) art workshops. Under the guidance and teaching of local artists\, we will use Lowell as a backdrop for inspiration and expression. Join in to grow your creative skill in different mediums\, from drawing and watercolor to portrait work and acrylic painting. Lowell is a City of Artists – Each artist will bring their own expertise to share with you and help facilitate your own process of creating. \nPlease note the age guidance for each workshop -some workshops are more well-suited to younger artists and family groups than others. The program is free\, but space is limited\, and reservations are required. Please call 978-970-5000 to reserve a spot. \nAll programs will be outdoors\, with either rain locations or rain dates. Please bring your own supplies\, some events LNHP will have limited supplies on hand for shared use read the full description to see the Materials Used section for the workshop. The materials used in each workshop are listed below. \nA walking photographic tour of the National Park led by a photographer with over fifty years experience in photographing the city. Guidance and tips for photographing architecture will be provided.
