SUMMARY:2nd Annual Taste For Chocolate Fundraiser
DESCRIPTION:Chocolate has been a favorite American treat for thousands of years. On February 11th\, celebrate all that chocolate has to offer with the return of the A Taste for Chocolate Fundraiser! This year’s event will expand on the history and many uses of chocolate from ancient times to today. \nA Taste for Chocolate features a wide variety of experiences and tastes: \n\nHistorical Society director Carol S. Ward will share the exciting story of how chocolate developed from a bitter\, spiced beverage to the sweet treat we know today.\nCulinary historian The 18th Century Cook\, known for his educational cooking content on TikTok and Instagram\, will demonstrate how chocolate was popularly consumed during the 18th century by both civilians and soldiers.\nLocal chef Trisha Pérez Kennealy of the Inn at Hastings Park will share the art of crafting and rolling delicious chocolate truffles.\nPerformance painter John Haiduk will create colorful artwork live during the event.\nIncludes samples of 18th century spiced drinking chocolate\, dark chocolate from Chequesset Chocolate of Truro and brownies from Sweets Bakery of Billerica.\n\nA Taste For Chocolate will take place on Saturday\, February 11th. from 7 – 9 PM at the Depot\, 13 Depot Square. Tickets are $50 for Historical Society members and $75 for nonmembers. All proceeds go toward furthering the Society’s mission to be the premier interpreter of the events of April 19th\, 1775\, and all of Lexington’s history through time. \n
