Driven by youthful fire\, they believed in the promise of liberty more than they feared the cost of pursuing it.\nHistoric Beverly proudly presents The American Revolution: A story of the War in 28 Paintings\, a once-in-a-lifetime exhibition of artworks commissioned to illustrate Senator Henry Cabot Lodge Sr.’s landmark book.\nThese paintings are featured in Ken Burns’ upcoming documentary The American Revolution. The exhibit will be on display at the Cabot House from September 6\, 2025 to July 4\, 2026. Tickets are free and open to the public.

This tour combines a walk along the riverwalk accompanied by a park ranger with a guided visit to the River Transformed Exhibit at the Suffolk Mill. \nJune 15-August 31\, 2025\nMonday and Tuesday at 2 p.m. \nVisitors should plan for a 75-minute tour\, all of which will be spent on your feet. Visitors can expect to walk as much as 1.5-miles on paved paths and are encouraged to bring water. This tour meets and ends at the Boott Cotton Mills Museum (115 John St.) \nThis tour is free. DESCRIPTION:The City of Lowell and the Lowell Historic Board are proud to announce the Sun Sign Restoration Lighting\, taking place on Monday\, October 27\, at 6:30PM in front of the Lowell Memorial Auditorium\, 50 East Merrimack St. \nLocated atop the historic Sun Building in Kearney Square\, the twin rooftop signs have long been a familiar feature of Lowell’s skyline. Installed in 1934\, twenty years after the building’s construction\, the signs once served as a beacon for generations of residents and travelers. The February 1\, 1937\, edition of The Lowell Sun proclaimed that the rooftop displays “contain the largest neon letters in Middlesex County\,” while a 1939 article described scouts using the illuminated signs as a navigational landmark.The October 27 relighting ceremony will feature remarks from Mayor Daniel P. Rourke\, City Manager Thomas A. Golden\, Jr.\, Lowell Historic Board Chair George Villaras\, and Alex Costello\, former Lowell Sun Editorial Page Editor
