SUMMARY:The American Revolution: A story of the War in 28 Paintings
DESCRIPTION:1776 was more than a turning point; it marked the birth of a new world order. A bold line was drawn as ordinary people made extraordinary decisions\, declaring independence from the most powerful empire on earth. Driven by youthful fire\, they believed in the promise of liberty more than they feared the cost of pursuing it.\nHistoric Beverly proudly presents The American Revolution: A story of the War in 28 Paintings\, a once-in-a-lifetime exhibition of artworks commissioned to illustrate Senator Henry Cabot Lodge Sr.’s landmark book.\nThese paintings are featured in Ken Burns’ upcoming documentary The American Revolution. The exhibit will be on display at the Cabot House from September 6\, 2025 to July 4\, 2026. Tickets are free and open to the public.

SUMMARY:"In The Footsteps of the American Revolutionary War" Artist Talk with Steven Edson
DESCRIPTION:The 250th anniversary of the American Revolution has prompted locals to revisit and reconsider our town landmarks. Bare fields and unassuming streetcorners hold stories that only the most ardent history lovers remember\, some marked with worn signs and others nearly lost to time. Others teem with tour guides and attract visitors from near and far. Steven Edson’s photography of these modern Revolutionary locations\, currently on display at Munroe Tavern urges the public to reconsider the spaces they drive by and inhabit every day. Join the artist for a discussion of this project\, our relationship with the historical landscape around us\, and further images from this collection. \n6:00 – 7:00: Exhibit closing reception and artist interaction. \n7:00 – 8:30: Lecture with Steven Edson \nFree! Registration is required. \nAbout the Artist: \nSteven Edson started photographing in the early 1970s\, shooting primarily black and white documentary street photography. After graduating with a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design\, he became a successful and award-winning freelance photographer working on project-based client international projects in editorial\, education\, corporate design\, and advertising campaigns. He currently shows his fine art images in solo and national group shows and sells his images to both corporate collections and personal collectors.
