SUMMARY:Backyard and Beyond: Nature Walk
DESCRIPTION:Join our outdoor educator for a guided nature walk on Bessie’s trail\, a 0.4 mile loop on the conservation land just next the Museum. Identify trees\, bugs\, birds and other wildlife and explore how you can find nature in your own backyard. This program is rain or shine but will be canceled due to extreme inclement weather. This walk will be approximately 1 hour and we will move over uneven terrain on conservation land trails. \nInclement weather may result in changes to this program or cancellation. Please note that the conservation land trails are not ADA or stroller accessible\, please wear appropriate footwear and clothing. DESCRIPTION:Join the Thoreau Sauntering Society of Thoreau Farm on this expert-led walk. \nWalk on easy trails in Wright Woods\, Fairhaven Bay\, and Andromeda Pond\, exploring the fall foliage of our varied woodland trees.\nLearn from Ken Turkington\, a local botanist who lives in one of two houses on north side of Fairhaven Bay\, and Peter Alden\, a top local naturalist and birder. \nTake Route 2 EAST from Sudbury Road to next right at Fairhaven Road.\nShortly you will see a downhill Arena Terrace on your left. Turn up Arena and do a u-turn and and park on right.
