SUMMARY:Taste of the Season Farm Dinner
DESCRIPTION:At Forge & Vine\, our Taste of the Season dinner series celebrates the beauty and importance of sourcing locally. Every ingredient tells a story—of the farmers\, fishermen\, and foragers whose dedication sustains our region and enriches our community. By choosing local\, we not only support our economy and environment but also reduce our collective footprint\, keeping the bounty of Massachusetts—its fertile farms\, coastal harvests\, and iconic maple syrup—at the center of our table. \nJoin us for an evening that honors these connections and the incredible seasonal flavors that define New England. Tickets include a cocktail hour featuring handcrafted canapés\, followed by a five-course dinner with expertly paired wines. Hosted in the Four Seasons Room at Forge & Vine\, this exclusive 21+ event invites food lovers to gather\, savor\, and celebrate the season together. \nWe want every guest to enjoy their meal—please let us know of any allergies beforehand\, and we’ll gladly accommodate when possible. \nSeating is limited – reserve your spot today! Tickets are $155 per person including tax and gratuity.

SUMMARY:The Umbrella Concert Series in partnership with Salt Lick Incubator presents Salt Lick Sessions
DESCRIPTION:The Umbrella’s expanded Concert Series in partnership with Salt Lick Incubator showcases some of your future-favorite musical acts that have emerged through the Salt Lick program. Each concert spotlights the incredible talents of tomorrow’s groundbreaking artists\, creates support and lets you say you knew them back when! Featuring: Olivia Barton\, Carter Benjamin\, and Kieran Rhodes. \nABOUT THE ARTISTS:\nOlivia Barton writes songs that walk the line between unfiltered and refined. With reverence for the craft of songwriting\, Barton writes and sings like she speaks: unapologetic\, yet approachable\, turning crowds into confidants. Having shared stages with Lizzy McAlpine\, Madi Diaz\, Field Medic\, Searows\, Annika Bennett\, and others\, her songs carry what folk music has always carried: emotion\, memory\, simple truth. \nAn indie/alternative artist blending folk\, gospel\, and soul-infused rock\, Carter Benjamin’s music is rooted in storytelling\, exploring themes of identity\, resilience\, and belonging. From his upbringing in Grand Cayman and DC to his bold\, genre-defying album Black Boys on the Radio Part II\, Benjamin reclaims space for voices too often left out of the conversation. \nKieran Rhodes is a piano-driven pop artist and songwriter whose music blends timeless melodies with sharp lyrical storytelling. A Berklee College of Music alum and America’s Got Talent standout\, Rhodes gained viral attention with his original song “Disengage” and further recognition when his song “What Got Into You” was featured in Netflix’s Virgin River. He has opened for artists including JP Saxe\, Ben Abraham\, and Five for Fighting\, and performed at major festivals like Boston Calling.

SUMMARY:NH Master Chorale’s Fall Concerts: Answering A Universal Need for Blessing
DESCRIPTION:The esteemed New Hampshire Master Chorale presents spiritual music for a secular age in a two-concert series in Concord on November 22 and Plymouth on November 23. \nThe program features the premiere of “Until We Could\,” Boston composer Oliver Caplan’s setting of a Richard Blanco’s poem that commemorates the 10th anniversary of the Supreme Court’s landmark ruling legalizing same- sex marriage. Commissioned by the Master Chorale\, the piece is the group’s eighth Caplan collaboration. \nThe program also includes: \n“The Beatitudes\,” a setting by the Estonian composer Arvo Pärt of the well-known “Blessed be…” texts from Jesus’ well-known Sermon on the Mount. \nThe familiar text of “Magnificat\,” set by 20th -century English composer Gerald Finzi. These words\, from the Gospel of Luke\, are usually seen as the Virgin Mary’s outpouring of humble joy and gratitude at being chosen to bear God’s son\, but Mary’s son also contains a challenge to the political status quo that speaks to our own age. \n“Sacred Place\,” a six-movement “ecological service” that composer Alex Berko has modeled after a Jewish service\, with texts from writers who “view the Earth as sacred.” \n“Dyptich for Organ\,” a two-movement work composed by Brenda Portman in 2024 and performed by Rob St. Cyr. \n“Until We Could\, the final selection on the program\, is a powerful statement on why the legalization of same-sex marriage in 2015 was so crucial for those who had been denied that validation. It sets an intensely personal poem by Richard Blanco\, an engineer-turned-poet living in Maine who is best-known for the poem on national unity he delivered at Barack Obama’s first inauguration. \nOliver Caplan says when he began composing “Until We Could” he thought of it as “a celebratory project” to commemorate the Supreme Court decision. But in recent months\, it has taken on a more somber tone. “We are witnessing a painful rollback of gay rights – and civil rights more broadly\,” Caplan says. “Now\, more than ever\, we must redouble our efforts for freedom and equality…and carry forward the simplest and most enduring truth: Love is love.” \nThe performance on Saturday\, November 22\, is at 7:30 p.m. in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church\, across from the Statehouse in Concord. The November 23 concert is at 4:00 p.m. at the Plymouth Congregational Church. Tickets are available through https://www.ticketleap.events/events/nhmc-4
