SUMMARY:Heart of the Acre Food Tour
DESCRIPTION:The Acre is one of Lowell’s oldest and most iconic communities. Just west of downtown and bordered by the canal system\, it has long been a landing place for new immigrants. Each wave brought its own food\, faith\, and culture\, helping to shape the neighborhood’s character. \nHistorically packed with tenements and boarding houses for mill workers\, the Acre developed a strong sense of community grounded in churches\, cafés\, mutual aid societies\, and local businesses. Today\, that legacy lives on in its storefronts\, kitchens\, and sidewalks. This tour is about more than what we eat—it’s about who makes the food\, and the neighborhood that made them. \n*A note about food allergies and dietary restrictions: \nWhile we do our best to accommodate guests\, it can be difficult and substitutions are not always possible due to the nature of the tour and the participating restaurants.* \nStops include: \nSophia’s Greek Pantry \nLaos Thai Kitchen \nGolden Tea Cafe or Cafe Eclipse \nViet Thai or Oshare Sushi + Bar \nTasty Dumplings \nMochinut or El Tipico Bakery \nAttendees can park at Sophia’s Greek Pantry parking lot to the left of the building. \nPlease note that we may cancel a tour due to low-ticket sales or severe weather conditions. Should this occur\, you will receive notice from Luma and/or a Taste the Acre representative by 1pm the day prior to the event\, and a refund will be processed. You are encouraged to book a future date.

SUMMARY:Peter Mulvey and Jenna Nicholls Present: Floyd Mercantile
DESCRIPTION:In April 2025\, Peter Mulvey and Jenna Nicholls\, along with guitarist Ross Bellenoit\, traveled to Floyd\, a small mountain town located in the Blue Ridge Highlands of Southwest Virginia\, for five uninterrupted days of recording. What emerged is Floyd Mercantile — a record that feels both intimate and timeless. \nThe makeshift studio was a decommissioned general store called (you guessed it!) Floyd Mercantile — a weathered wooden building standing across the road from an open pasture where cows wandered and grazed in the gentle early spring. (One cow even volunteered to be on the album cover.) Inside those old walls\, the trio recorded the album live — no isolation booths\, no heavy overdubbing — just three musicians in a room\, listening closely and letting the songs unfold in real time. \nThe sessions were recorded by Jeff Oehler and filmed in their entirety by partner Sue Bibeau and their associate Skylar Locke. Together\, Sue and Jeff comprise Beehive Pro\, an audio\, visual\, and design collective famed for their intimate recordings and thoughtfully considered visuals. They captured not just the sound\, but the atmosphere — the wood floors\, the daylight through the dusty windows\, and the creak of the porch boards could all be considered session players on this album. \nThe repertoire bridges eras. Mostly comprised of songs Peter and Jenna wrote separately\, there are a few gems from the Great American Songbook: “Skylark” (Hoagy Carmichael/Johnny Mercer)\, “Them There Eyes” (Maceo Pinkard/Doris Tauber/William Tracey)\, and “I’ll Be Seeing You” (Sammy Fain/Irving Kahal). \nThe visual and sonic tones of the project reflect the periods these songs evoke — even the newly composed tracks feel in conversation with another time. The goal was not nostalgia\, but continuity: to stand inside the lineage of American song and add something honest and present to it. \nFloyd Mercantile is not just an album. It’s a document of place. Of three musicians in a room. Of songs — old and new — allowed to breathe in the quiet of a Virginia afternoon.

SUMMARY:Rubbish to Runway Sustainable Fashion Show
DESCRIPTION:The Rubbish to Runway Sustainable Fashion Event will take place over two nights\, June 26th and 27th\, 2026\, at Veasey Memorial Park in Groveland. \nThis inspiring annual event is an intergenerational fashion show featuring garments upcycled or made by local designers from materials that would otherwise be recycled or thrown away. The event is an inclusive\, body-positive event that promotes community participation\, re-use\, resourcefulness\, and sustainable practices while supporting a vital\, self-funding conservation property. \nOur R2R 2026 theme is “World\, Reimagined”. This theme embraces rediscovery\, interconnectedness\, and modern interpretations of traditional dress. \nRubbish to Runway\, founded in 2010\, is a celebration of innovation\, arts\, sustainability\, and imagination. The amazing garments created for the event show how creativity and resourcefulness can make an impact. Each year\, we reach out to various community groups\, schools\, and non-profit art centers to participate. Recent participants range in age from 5 to 80! \nAll proceeds from the event benefit Friends of Veasey park\, a non-profit in Groveland. The funds raised from Rubbish to Runway 2026 will play a pivotal role in enhancing arts and environmental conservation education and ensuring the sustainability of Veasey Memorial Park.

SUMMARY:Kids Night: Ben Rudnick & Friends
DESCRIPTION:Kids Concert Night with Ben Rudnick & Friends!\nBen Rudnick & Friends Bring Celebration to Their Performances\nWith countless kudos to their credit\, including SEVEN Parents’ Choice Awards\, the band considers its main focus to be providing a common ground where all family members can enjoy a shared musical experience.\nDrawing on original songs and traditional material\, the band seamlessly integrates classic Americana with their own unique sound. It’s kids\, it’s families\, it’s music… live music.\nThe band is in their 22nd year of making music for families. That includes twelve recordings\, tours up and down the east coast\, a week of shows in Colorado and a play about a certain frog\, named Sam\, and his alien buddy\, Trip. The band is an institution in the Boston area and are happiest when playing outside on a perfect New England summer evening.\nThe tightly-honed quartet ties its identity to their New England homeland. Their sound is pure Americana. There’s a summer feel with a strong sense of celebration and happiness.
