She has been offering SoulMapping groups in her studio for the past nine years and has her own SoulMapping and journaling practice that she recommends to all those who attend SoulCollage/SoulMapping workshops. \nAbout Art in the Park \nJoin LNHP and diverse local artists for our Art in the Park series of plein air (outdoors) art workshops. Under the guidance and teaching of local artists\, we will use Lowell as a backdrop for inspiration and expression. Join in to grow your creative skill in different mediums\, from drawing and watercolor to portrait work and acrylic painting. Lowell is a City of Artists – Each artist will bring their own expertise to share with you and help facilitate your own process of creating. \nPlease note the age guidance for each workshop -some workshops are more well-suited to younger artists and family groups than others. The program is free\, but space is limited\, and reservations are required. Please call 978-970-5000 to reserve a spot. \nMost programs will be outdoors\, with either rain locations or rain dates. Some programs may require participants to bring their own supplies\, although LNHP strives to provide supplies when possible. Participants are encouraged to bring their own preferred art supplies if appropriate. \nAbout The Brush Art Gallery & Studios \nThe Brush Art Gallery & Studios (https://www.thebrush.org/) is located in the Lowell National Historical Park across the courtyard from the Visitor Center. This dynamic and captivating place was originally founded by the Lowell Historic Preservation Commission\, U.S. Department of the Interior. The Brush presents museum quality exhibitions\, educational programs\, and has collaborated with many other nonprofit groups. Artists occupy studio spaces to interact with and educate the public on a weekly basis. Currently\, eleven studio artists produce paintings\, illustration\, photography\, jewelry\, sculpture\, ceramics\, quilts\, and handwoven items. Associate artists display work in the common area. The Brush Art Gallery and Studios is a nonprofit\, 501(c)(3) organization. The Brush is supported by the Lowell National Historical Park.

SUMMARY:Henry David Thoreau Walking Tour
DESCRIPTION:Did you know that Henry David Thoreau was baptized David Henry Thoreau? Did you know that he willingly spent a night in jail in July of 1846 but had to be kicked out the next morning? Join us for a 90-minute\, two-mile walk where we will visit some of the places that were significant during Thoreau’s life and discuss the principles he lived by. We will begin where Henry taught school after graduating from Harvard College and where he spent a night in jail. We will visit his gravesite on Author’s Ridge in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery where you will learn about his family and his famous neighbors. If time allows\, we will walk past the house where Henry lived the last 12 years of his life. We will also visit the Concord Public Library to view photographs and sculptures of Henry Thoreau. The tour will conclude with tea at Barrow Bookstore. Our guide will also suggest other sites important in Henry’s life that you can visit on your own.
