From Friday\, October 10 through Sunday\, November 23\, 2025\, audiences will be invited into the creative crucible of a composer on the brink of his 30th birthday\, facing the crossroads of love\, ambition\, and artistic purpose. \nBefore Rent\, there was TICK\, TICK… BOOM!. This autobiographical musical by Jonathan Larson\, the Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning composer of Rent\, is the story of a composer and the sacrifices that he made to achieve his big break in theater. TICK\, TICK… BOOM! takes you on the playwright/composer’s journey through his quarter-life crisis that led to a Broadway blockbuster. \nHis girlfriend wants to get married and move out of the city\, his best friend is making big bucks on Madison Avenue\, and yet Jon is still waiting on tables and trying to write the great American musical. Set in 1990\, this compelling story of personal discovery is presented as a rock musical filled with instantly appealing melodies and a unique blend of musical theater styles. \nShows run Thursdays and Fridays at 7:30PM\, Saturdays at 8PM and Sundays at 3PM. DESCRIPTION:Members of the AANHPI (Asian American and Native Hawaiians/Pacific Islander) community are invited to gather at the Addison Gallery of American Art in Andover to reflect on and be inspired by our own lives in relation to places\, real or imagined. Our time together will include an introduction to the exhibition Tommy Kha: Other Things Uttered with museum educator Christine Jee and a facilitated session on creating story maps to explore narrative ways of being and belonging\, led by artist and cultural organizer Mindy Tsonas Choi. Participants are invited to bring their own favorite collage materials and ephemera (photos\, stickers\, papers etc.) All other materials and light refreshments will be provided. This workshop is free\, but space is limited and registration is required. Open to adults as well as participants in middle school and up.

DESCRIPTION:The City of Lowell and the Lowell Historic Board are proud to announce the Sun Sign Restoration Lighting\, taking place on Monday\, October 27\, at 6:30PM in front of the Lowell Memorial Auditorium\, 50 East Merrimack St. \nLocated atop the historic Sun Building in Kearney Square\, the twin rooftop signs have long been a familiar feature of Lowell’s skyline. Installed in 1934\, twenty years after the building’s construction\, the signs once served as a beacon for generations of residents and travelers. The February 1\, 1937\, edition of The Lowell Sun proclaimed that the rooftop displays “contain the largest neon letters in Middlesex County\,” while a 1939 article described scouts using the illuminated signs as a navigational landmark.The October 27 relighting ceremony will feature remarks from Mayor Daniel P. From Friday\, October 10 through Sunday\, November 23\, 2025\, audiences will be invited into the creative crucible of a composer on the brink of his 30th birthday\, facing the crossroads of love\, ambition\, and artistic purpose. \nBefore Rent\, there was TICK\, TICK… BOOM!. This autobiographical musical by Jonathan Larson\, the Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning composer of Rent\, is the story of a composer and the sacrifices that he made to achieve his big break in theater. TICK\, TICK… BOOM! takes you on the playwright/composer’s journey through his quarter-life crisis that led to a Broadway blockbuster. \nHis girlfriend wants to get married and move out of the city\, his best friend is making big bucks on Madison Avenue\, and yet Jon is still waiting on tables and trying to write the great American musical. Set in 1990\, this compelling story of personal discovery is presented as a rock musical filled with instantly appealing melodies and a unique blend of musical theater styles. \nShows run Thursdays and Fridays at 7:30PM\, Saturdays at 8PM and Sundays at 3PM. From Friday\, October 10 through Sunday\, November 23\, 2025\, audiences will be invited into the creative crucible of a composer on the brink of his 30th birthday\, facing the crossroads of love\, ambition\, and artistic purpose. \nBefore Rent\, there was TICK\, TICK… BOOM!. This autobiographical musical by Jonathan Larson\, the Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning composer of Rent\, is the story of a composer and the sacrifices that he made to achieve his big break in theater. TICK\, TICK… BOOM! takes you on the playwright/composer’s journey through his quarter-life crisis that led to a Broadway blockbuster. \nHis girlfriend wants to get married and move out of the city\, his best friend is making big bucks on Madison Avenue\, and yet Jon is still waiting on tables and trying to write the great American musical. Set in 1990\, this compelling story of personal discovery is presented as a rock musical filled with instantly appealing melodies and a unique blend of musical theater styles. \nShows run Thursdays and Fridays at 7:30PM\, Saturdays at 8PM and Sundays at 3PM. A special KidCare Show on Nov 2 will allow parents an opportunity to attend a matinee performance while their child(ren) ages 5-12 engage in art activities inspired by the show in one of The Umbrella’s classrooms with an experienced teacher.\nDinner & A Show packages are available for all Thursday night performances.
