SUMMARY:VASTNESS | July 2 – 27\, 2025| Reception on Saturday July 5\, 3 - 5 pm | Loading Dock Gallery
DESCRIPTION:Loading Dock Gallery\n122 Western Avenue\nLowell\, MA\nShow: Vastness\nShow dates: July 2 – 27\, 2025\nOpening Reception: July 5 from 3-5 pm \nOpening July 2nd\, this show features abstract paintings\, landscapes\, and textile works from Tarja Cockell\, Sandrine Colson\, Nan Hockenbury\, Suzanne Hodge\, Margarita Krylova.\n“Vastness” means immensity or hugeness. Oceans\, space\, deserts\, and the imagination are vast. These artists’ works\, realistic to abstract\, interpret the theme Vastness. The artwork curated in this exhibition speaks to the nature of wide spaces and reach beyond the gallery’s windows to take our imaginations to limitless horizons.\nTarja Cockell has a degree in textile and design. Her work is influenced by the Scandinavian style of simplicity and clean lines.\nSandrine Colson is a storyteller. Her work is filled with paint swirls\, paper cut-outs\, acrylic pouring and three-dimensional objects. Her inspiration is the human soul\, nature\, master artists\, and the world around us.\nNan Hockenbury works with acrylic or oil paints\, pastels\, oil bars\, or any drawing medium on canvas or paper. Her themes are about nature\, herself\, or more powerful women. Her paintings record the scene but rely on color and arrangements to express her feelings during the moment of creation.\nSuzanne Hodge is a Boston area-based oil painter whose favorite subject is cityscapes or landscapes. Her work often evokes a feeling of mystery and possibility that are the inspiration for many of her art pieces.\nMargarita Krylova sees the world as a magical place. Her work lives in this grey area between the real and the imagined – in memories\, coincidences\, associations. Margarita sees nature as a means for soul-searching.\nThe Loading Dock Gallery show\, Vastness\, will be on display July 2 – 27\, 2025 at the Loading Dock Gallery\, 122 Western Avenue\, Lowell\, MA More at www.theloadingdockgallery.com. \nLoading Dock Gallery is part of Loading Dock Arts\, Inc.\, a 501c3.

SUMMARY:Kashmir - The Spirit of Led Zeppelin Live celebrating the Physical Graffiti 50th Anniversary
DESCRIPTION:Kashmir Celebrates the 50th Anniversary of Physical Graffiti Tour – Come and see it at NARA Park in Acton\, MA!\nCome one\, come all in 2025 to see Kashmir featuring Jean Violet perform Physical Graffiti in it’s entirety!! The iconic 6th album released in 1975 is Led Zeppelin at their creative peak – with more new music than could fit on an a lbum\, they opted to make Physical Graffiti their only studio double album. It was both a critical and commercial success upon release\, debuting at #1 in the UK\, and #3 in the US\, respectively\, and currently has gone 16x Platinum in the US. \nCome on out and see the band perform the down and dirty blues of “In My Time of Dying”\, or the melancholy and soul stirring “Ten Years Gone”\, the hymn to nature “Down By The Seaside” or the grinding rhythm of their song of escape\, “Night Flight”. You’ll hear the straight up rockers “Sick Again ”\, “The Wanton Song” and “the Rover”\, the funked up “Trampled Under Foot”\, as well as the mysterious light and shade of “In The Light”. And of course you’ll hear the majestic\, larger than life anthem\, “Kashmir”\, the song that both Plant and Page called “the bands definitive moment”\, and whose lyric writing process drove Plant “virtually to tears.” \nYou won’t want to miss this powerful 50th Anniversary live performance of Physical Graffiti\, Led Zeppelin’s highly acclaimed and wide ranging tour de force! \nVisit their website: https://ledzeppelintribute.com/

DESCRIPTION:Daryl Hall is a modern-day renaissance man\, an inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame\, the star of his very own award-winning web series\, Live from Daryl’s House\, as well as a successful venue owner with “Daryl’s House\,” a restored venue and live music space in Pawling\, N.Y. \nDaryl released his sixth solo album\, D\, on Virgin Music Group on June 21\, co-produced by one-time Eurythmics member and fellow Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Dave Stewart\, who co-wrote seven of the nine new original songs with Hall penning the other two on his own. The first single from the album\, “Can’t Say No To You” can be seen here on YouTube. \nDaryl Hall has come a long way\, and he’s still got plenty of mileage left in a career that’s taken him from the streets of Philadelphia to the halls of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. The best is yet to come.

SUMMARY:Weaving An Address - Curator Tour and Author Talk
DESCRIPTION:The public is invited to a free program exploring The Umbrella Arts Center’s outdoors public art ramble\, Weaving an Address\, a site-specific exhibition of work by prominent Black artists commemorating colonial-era Black residents of Concord’s famed Walden Woods. \nOn Saturday\, July 19 at 3PM\, curator and artist Marla McLeod will lead a guided tour of the artwork installed at Brister’s Hill in Walden Woods\, named for Brister Freeman\, an enslaved man who won his freedom by serving in the Revolutionary War and then bought the property and lived there along with other formerly enslaved before Thoreau. \nThe tour will be followed at 4:30PM by refreshments and a panel discussion back at The Umbrella Arts Center (40 Stow Street\, Concord\, MA) with McLeod in dialogue with historian Elise Lemire\, author of Black Walden: Slavery and Its Aftermath in Concord\, Massachusetts\, who was recently a subject of the new international documentary\, Concord’s Secret History\, just released on over 500 PBS stations. Saturday’s discussion will examine the “journey from archive to art\,” and Lemire’s scholarly research that fueled Weaving’s creative installations. \nPart of the town’s Revolution250 celebrations\, this program is co-presented by The Umbrella Arts Center\, The Walden Woods Project and The Robbins House: Concord’s African American History Museum. It featured work by artists Sharon Chandler Correnty\, Ifé Franklin\, Stephen Hamilton\, Whitney Harris\, Ekua Holmes\, Perla Mabel\, Marla McLeod\, Kimberly Love Radcliffe\, and Anthony Peyton Young. \nLearn more at https://theumbrellaarts.org/weaving

SUMMARY:Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox - Magic & Moonlight Tour
DESCRIPTION:Even in our futuristic age of AI chatbots and virtual realities\, there is still nothing in the world that compares with the thrill of hearing classic genres of music\, performed live by a group of exceptional singers and musicians that have truly mastered the ability to move an audience. \nThat’s the philosophy behind Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox\, whose Life In The Past Lane World Tour returns to 40 US cities this Fall. The revamped show will blend modern-day earworms and iconic pop hits with the original styles that put American popular music on the map: Ragtime\, Swing\, Big Band\, Country / Western\, Doo Wop and Soul. Equal parts time-traveling musical variety show and career-launching talent platform\, Postmodern Jukebox (or “PMJ”) will feature a cast of performers from their wildly popular YouTube channel\, to bring the musical universe to life. \nEverything New is Old Again – leave the AI at home and take a road trip to experience Life In The Past Lane! Dressing in vintage attire is encouraged.

SUMMARY:UNCOMMON CONNECTIONS | July 30 – August 31\, 2025| Reception on Saturday August 3\, 3 - 5 pm | Loading Dock Gallery
DESCRIPTION:Show: Uncommon Connections\nShow dates: July 30 – August 31\, 2025\nOpening Reception: August 2 from 3-5 pm \nThis show brings together the creative voices of three senior artists—each representing a distinct medium: painting\, woodworking\, and sculpture. With a lifetime of experiences and shared passion for the arts\, these men offer a rich\, multidimensional exhibition. Their connection goes beyond the canvas or workshop—they are long-time collaborators and curators at the Loading Dock Gallery. Through their individual works and collective vision\, this show celebrates not only their diverse artistic journeys but also the enduring power of community and creativity. \nBruce Wood’s work is imaginative\, whimsical\, creative and provocative\, drawing the viewer into a world of skewed reality and thought. He uses found and recycled items to create unique sculptures. \nNeal Emmer’s work displays simple subject matter with forceful detail. He finds content while taking walks\, driving\, or finding things in thrift stores\, at home and in his back yard. He develops a theme and draws or paints the scenarios using pencil on paper or acrylic paint on canvas. \nBob Jones’ passion for woodworking started at a young age. His work is driven by a desire to marry functionality with artistry\, creating useful and beautiful objects. \nThe Loading Dock Gallery show\, Uncommon Connections\, will be on display July 30 to August 31\, 2025 at the Loading Dock Gallery\, 122 Western Avenue\, Lowell\, MA. Opening Reception on August 2 from 3-5 pm. More at www.theloadingdockgallery.com. \nLoading Dock Gallery is part of Loading Dock Arts\, Inc.\, a 501c3.
