Jones also in an episode of Fox’s Family Guy called “Scrammed Yankees” where a solider uses the “Hamburger” phrase while talking to hostages. Opie and Anthony dedicated a significant portion of a show discussing “catch phrase comedians” after recalling Jones’s routine. Artie Lange would frequently refer to Jones on his former podcast the Artie Quitter podcast. \nThis show will also include Gee Johnson’s has performed up and down the east coast and regularly host shows at The Smoke House Tavern.Dale Cover opened for Michael Blackson last month at the Strand Theatre and is founder of The Quahog Comedy Circuit in Rhode Island. Fiddler Eileen Ivers has established herself as the pre-eminent exponent of the Irish fiddle in the world today. \nIt is a rare and select grade of spectacular artists whose work is so boldly imaginative and clearly virtuosic that it alters the medium. It has been said that the task of respectfully exploring the traditions and progression of the Celtic fiddle is quite literally on Eileen Ivers’ shoulders. The Washington Post states\, “She suggests the future of the Celtic fiddle.” \nShe’s been called a “sensation” by Billboard magazine and “the Jimi Hendrix of the violin\,” by The New York Times. “She electrifies the crowd with a dazzling show of virtuoso playing” says The Irish Times. \nIvers’ recording credits include over 80 contemporary and traditional albums and numerous movie scores. Eileen is hailed as one of the great innovators and pioneers in the Celtic and World music genres. \nThe daughter of Irish immigrants\, Eileen Ivers grew up in the culturally diverse neighborhood of the Bronx\, New York. Rooted in Irish traditional music since the age of eight\, Eileen proceeded to win nine All-Ireland fiddle championships\, a tenth on tenor banjo and over 30 championship medals\, making her one of the most awarded persons ever to compete in these prestigious competitions. \nBeing an Irish-American\, the intrigue of learning more about the multicultural sounds of her childhood took hold. After graduating magna cum laude in Mathematics from Iona College and while continuing her post-graduate work in Mathematics\, Eileen fully immersed herself in the different genres of music which she experienced growing up in New York. With “unIVERSal roots”\, her energetic\, joyous\, passionate band\, Eileen continues to connect music\, cultures\, stories\, and emotions that tie us together. In 2019\, Iona College conferred upon Eileen Ivers the degree of Doctor of Arts\, honoris causa for her “lifelong commitment to innovation\, excellence and deep dedication to bringing people together through music.” \nEileen and her ensemble headline prestigious performing arts centers\, guest star with numerous symphonies\, perform at major festivals worldwide\, and have appeared on national and international television. The L.A. Times proclaims\, “Ivers’ presentation was music with the kind of life and spirit that come together when talented artists from different backgrounds find the linkages that connect all forms of music…no wonder the audience loved every minute.” www.eileenivers.com/ \nTICKET INFORMATION\nTickets for Eileen Ivers: A Joyful Christmas at Lexington’s Cary Hall on Sunday\, December 12 at 3pm are $39-$69 and go on sale Friday\, June 25 at 10am at www.caryhalllexington.com or by calling 1-800-657-8774. \nCARY MEMORIAL HALL\nThe Cary Memorial Building is a historic structure located in Lexington Center at 1605 Massachusetts Avenue. SUMMARY:An American in Paris
DESCRIPTION:ROMANCE! ADVENTURE! GERSHWIN! WHO COULD ASK FOR ANYTHING MORE?Inspired by the Academy Award winning film\, AN AMERICAN IN PARIS transports the audience to post-war Paris\, where romance is in the air and youthful optimism reigns. In this poignant production\, Gershwin’s soaring melodies are matched by-gravity dance as the world rediscovers the power of love. Hoping to start anew life\, World War II veteran Jerry Mulligan chooses newly liberated Paris to try and make his mark as a painter. Jerry’s life becomes complicated when he meets the mysterious Lise\, a young Parisian ballet dancer with a haunting secret who\, like Jerry\, is yearning for a new beginning. The winner of four Tony Awards\, this exquisite production is filled with music from legendary composers George and Ira Gershwin\, featuring the classics “I Got Rhythm\,”“Liza\,” “’S Wonderful\,” “But Not for Me\,” and “Stairway to Paradise.” The New YorkTimes proclaimed “Pure Joy…An American In Paris is a TRIUMPH!”

SUMMARY:Middlesex Community College Presents: Darlene Love
DESCRIPTION:Rolling Stone Magazine has proclaimed Darlene Love to be “one of the greatest singers of all time” and that certainly rings true\, but perhaps Paul Shaffer says it even more concisely: “Darlene Love is Rock N’ Roll!” – which was made official when she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by Bette Midler\, a great fan of her work\, in 2011. Through the years\, Darlene Love continues to captivate audiences worldwide with her warm\, gracious stage presence and superb performances. \nAt the Academy Awards\, Darlene sang her powerful acceptance speech on behalf of all of the performers in the winning film Twenty Feet From Stardom. As she raised the Oscar\, the entire house stood with a cheering ovation\, led by the wildly applauding Bill Murray. It was another special moment in a great career. A GRAMMY Award soon followed for the soundtrack of the film. \nSince the early sixties\, Darlene has appeared on numerous television programs and on Broadway\, running the gamut from her weekly appearances on Shindig to a recent guest spot on the PBS special entitled Women Who Rock. An autobiographical film is currently on the drawing board with a development deal from Oprah Winfrey based on the book My Name is Love\, written by Darlene. \nHer Billboard hits include: He’s A Rebel\, The Boy I’m Gonna Marry\, Wait ‘Til My Bobby Gets Home\, He’s Sure the Boy I Love and the #1 holiday classic Christmas Baby Please Come Home\, a song that she performed annually with Paul Shaffer and the CBS Symphony Orchestra on The Late Show With David Letterman for some 29 years before David retired. \nTo continue this long standing tradition\, Darlene performs a number of special Christmas shows every year and continues to enchant her fans with Christmas spirit.
