He’s inspired generations of acoustic musicians with his technical and conceptual advances\, and opened the way for such players as Béla Fleck\, Alison Brown\, and Noam Pikelny. His seventeen solo albums are part of every banjo-lover’s musical reference. Tony has recorded and performed with Earl Scruggs\, Pete Seeger\, William S. Burroughs\, The Allman Brothers\, Alison Kraus\, Miley Cyrus\, Van Dyke Parks\, and many more. A Grammy nominee\, he’s received multiple awards and was recently inducted into the American Banjo Museum’s Hall of Fame.
