SUMMARY:VASTNESS | July 2 – 27\, 2025| Reception on Saturday July 5\, 3 - 5 pm | Loading Dock Gallery
DESCRIPTION:Loading Dock Gallery\n122 Western Avenue\nLowell\, MA\nShow: Vastness\nShow dates: July 2 – 27\, 2025\nOpening Reception: July 5 from 3-5 pm \nOpening July 2nd\, this show features abstract paintings\, landscapes\, and textile works from Tarja Cockell\, Sandrine Colson\, Nan Hockenbury\, Suzanne Hodge\, Margarita Krylova.\n“Vastness” means immensity or hugeness. Oceans\, space\, deserts\, and the imagination are vast. These artists’ works\, realistic to abstract\, interpret the theme Vastness. The artwork curated in this exhibition speaks to the nature of wide spaces and reach beyond the gallery’s windows to take our imaginations to limitless horizons.\nTarja Cockell has a degree in textile and design. Her work is influenced by the Scandinavian style of simplicity and clean lines.\nSandrine Colson is a storyteller. Her work is filled with paint swirls\, paper cut-outs\, acrylic pouring and three-dimensional objects. Her inspiration is the human soul\, nature\, master artists\, and the world around us.\nNan Hockenbury works with acrylic or oil paints\, pastels\, oil bars\, or any drawing medium on canvas or paper. Her themes are about nature\, herself\, or more powerful women. Her paintings record the scene but rely on color and arrangements to express her feelings during the moment of creation.\nSuzanne Hodge is a Boston area-based oil painter whose favorite subject is cityscapes or landscapes. Her work often evokes a feeling of mystery and possibility that are the inspiration for many of her art pieces.\nMargarita Krylova sees the world as a magical place. Her work lives in this grey area between the real and the imagined – in memories\, coincidences\, associations. Margarita sees nature as a means for soul-searching.\nThe Loading Dock Gallery show\, Vastness\, will be on display July 2 – 27\, 2025 at the Loading Dock Gallery\, 122 Western Avenue\, Lowell\, MA More at www.theloadingdockgallery.com. \nLoading Dock Gallery is part of Loading Dock Arts\, Inc.\, a 501c3.
