DESCRIPTION:Discovery Museum is excited to welcome youth steppers from the district-wide Lincoln Public Schools Step Team. Step is an artform that involves making acapella-style beats with your body\, to create an experience that brings together dance\, music\, and community. The LPS Step Team is a diverse group of students\, who are committed to standing together against all forms of discrimination\, and who work together as a team\, while honoring each unique individual. Since the team was formed as a pilot program in the spring of 2022\, it has grown to include 32 steppers from multiple communities\, ranging from 1st – 8th grades\, coming together to learn a new artform. \nPerformances at 2:00pm\, 2:30pm\, 2:45pm

SUMMARY:Backyard and Beyond: Nature Walk
DESCRIPTION:Join our outdoor educator for a guided nature walk on Bessie’s trail\, a 0.4 mile loop on the conservation land just next the Museum. Identify trees\, bugs\, birds and other wildlife and explore how you can find nature in your own backyard. This program is rain or shine but will be canceled due to extreme inclement weather. This walk will be approximately 1 hour and we will move over uneven terrain on conservation land trails. \nInclement weather may result in changes to this program or cancellation. Please note that the conservation land trails are not ADA or stroller accessible\, please wear appropriate footwear and clothing.
