The touring sensation that has criss-crossed the nation delighting audiences for a decade returns next summer with a show full of chart-topping hits from the ‘60s and ‘70s – FIFTY-NINE Billboard Top 40 smashes to be precise.  The tour is once again headlined by The Turtles\, who also act as musical hosts for the evening.  Supporting The Turtles will be Chuck Negron (Three Dog Night)\, The Association\, Mark Lindsay (Paul Revere & The Raiders)\, The Vogues and The Cowsills.  New to the tour this year are Mark Lindsay and The Vogues. With hits such as “Elenore\,” “She’d Rather Be With Me\,” “It Ain’t Me Babe\,” “You Showed Me” and the title of the tour\, “Happy Together\,” the band ruled the airwaves in the late ‘60s.  Ron Dante joins the line-up to delight with his own mega-hit\, “Sugar Sugar”. \nAlso returning to the tour for 2020 is The Association\, who enjoyed massive radio success in the ‘60s with such #1 hits as “Cherish\,” “Windy\,” “Never My Love” and “Along Comes Mary”.  This iconic vocal group was a staple on AM radio in the 1960s.  \nBrand new to the Happy Together touring family for 2020 are The Vogues.  Also known for their harmony-driven pop sound\, The Vogues had numerous Top 10 hits with singles such as “Five O’Clock World\,” “You’re The One\,” “My Special Angel” and “Turn Around Look At Me”.  \nRounding out the bill are The Cowsills\, the harmonious family act (two brothers and a sister) that inspired the smash hit ‘60s television show\, “The Patridge Family”. DESCRIPTION:Rolling Stone Magazine has proclaimed Darlene Love to be “one of the greatest singers of all time” and that certainly rings true\, but perhaps Paul Shaffer says it even more concisely: “Darlene Love is Rock N’ Roll!” – which was made official when she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by Bette Midler\, a great fan of her work\, in 2011. Through the years\, Darlene Love continues to captivate audiences worldwide with her warm\, gracious stage presence and superb performances. \nAt the Academy Awards\, Darlene sang her powerful acceptance speech on behalf of all of the performers in the winning film Twenty Feet From Stardom. As she raised the Oscar\, the entire house stood with a cheering ovation\, led by the wildly applauding Bill Murray. It was another special moment in a great career. DESCRIPTION:Tickets Available \nThe J. J. Grey concert has been moved indoors due to the heat wave. The new venue is Lowell Memorial Auditorium at 50 East Merrimack Street. It is air conditioned and there is a lot of room for social distancing. \n  \nSo please do not come down in the morning to place chairs in the park as the show won’t be there tomorrow night. \n  \nThe doors at Lowell Memorial Auditorium will open at 5:30pm for those who want to use a jacket or other item to reserve their seat location. We expect to have about 1\,100 patrons in a hall that holds 2\,800 people with great sightlines everywhere. Show will begin at 7:30pm as usual. \n  \nFrom the days of playing greasy local juke joints to headlining major festivals\, JJ Grey remains an unfettered\, blissful performer\, singing with a blue-collared spirit over the bone-deep grooves of his compositions. His presence before an audience is something startling and immediate\, at times a funk rave-up\, other times a sort of mass-absolution for the mortal weaknesses that make him and his audience human. When you see JJ Grey and his band Mofro live—and you truly\, absolutely must—the man is fearless.
