SUMMARY:Art in the Park with Jessica Peill-Meininghaus: Needlefelting- Practice IS Perfect
DESCRIPTION:About Art in the Park \nJoin LNHP and diverse local artists for our Art in the Park series of plein air (outdoors) art workshops. Under the guidance and teaching of local artists\, we will use Lowell as a backdrop for inspiration and expression. Join in to grow your creative skill in different mediums\, from drawing and watercolor to portrait work and acrylic painting. Lowell is a City of Artists – Each artist will bring their own expertise to share with you and help facilitate your own process of creating. \nPlease note the age guidance for each workshop -some workshops are more well-suited to younger artists and family groups than others. The program is free\, but space is limited\, and reservations are required. Please call 978-970-5000 to reserve a spot. \nLearn to turn dyed wool into pictures and sculptures using a barbed needle known as a felting needle. \nMaterials used: \nSheep’s wool\, felting needles\, foam pads\, pipe cleaners\, woven fabric (as base)- if you have any felting supplies and wish to bring it\, that would be great! \nSuggested Audience \nAges 6+ Felting needles are very sharp so hand-eye coordination is important\, children should be accompanied by an adult for supervision at all times. \nAbout the Artist \nJessica lives with her family in New England. There she makes art\, writes\, plays in her studio\, teaches\, walks in Nature and plots ways to re-wild her yard while feeding the birds. She has been felting for over 30 years and making art in many forms since she could barely walk. \nPlease call 978-970-5000 to reserve a spot.
