Your voice. Your town. Our shared story.

The Revolutionary Valley Ambassador Program is a grassroots movement powered by the people who know this region best. Our 21 cities and towns carry the legacy of centuries of revolutions — political, industrial, literary, cultural, and technological — and no one can tell that story more authentically than the people who live it every day.

Ambassadors help us bring those stories to life. They are the local experts, storytellers, and connectors who reveal the spirit of each community — from its historic roots to its modern energy. They amplify the voices of local businesses and cultural institutions, highlight the traditions and talents that define their towns, and help visitors see not just where history happened, but where it continues.

Ambassadors bridge local pride with global interest. They welcome visitors with warmth, insight, and real knowledge of place. They help guide travelers beyond the well-known stops and toward the experiences, people, and hidden gems that make the Revolutionary Valley memorable. And through their work, they ensure the region shines on the state, national, and international stage — not as a chapter of the past, but as a region actively shaping the future.

Why Become an Ambassador?

The Revolutionary Valley isn’t just where the American Revolution began. It’s where revolutions never stopped. From the shot heard ’round the world in Lexington and Concord, to the mills and canals of Lowell, to the writers, makers, artists, and innovators who continue to shape culture today — our region is a living, evolving legacy.

As an Ambassador, you become part of that legacy. You are the trusted local voice who:

  • Represents your city or town
  • Welcomes visitors with warmth and knowledge
  • Elevates local businesses, events, and attractions
  • Strengthens the regional story through your perspective
  • Helps ensure the region continues to thrive economically and culturally

This is more than a volunteer role. It’s a chance to make a meaningful impact in your own community.

What Ambassadors Do

Ambassadors take on a one-year commitment and play an active role in showcasing their community. Responsibilities are meaningful but manageable, with support every step of the way.

✔ Contribute Local Events

Submit events from your city or town to the Revolutionary Valley Events Calendar each month — from festivals and fundraisers to markets, performances, talks, and tours.

✔ Highlight Attractions & Businesses

Help us keep the website vibrant by sharing new restaurants, shops, galleries, historical sites, and local experiences. Your submissions help us drive visitors right to your community.

✔ Volunteer at the Visitor Center

Serve one 4-hour shift per month at our Visitor Center in downtown Lowell. Ambassadors greet visitors, share local knowledge, and help guests discover everything the region has to offer.

✔ Support Regional Events

Participate in at least two major regional volunteer days each year — such as Lowell Winterfest, the Folk Festival, or other key events and launches.

✔ Join a Community of Local Leaders

Ambassadors receive ongoing communication, quarterly check-ins, and opportunities to collaborate, learn, and celebrate together.

Who Can Be an Ambassador?

Ambassadors can be:

  • Business owners
  • Students
  • Historians
  • Artists
  • Civic volunteers
  • Newcomers with fresh passion
  • Lifelong residents with deep roots

There is no single profile — only a shared enthusiasm for the Revolutionary Valley and a desire to help others discover it.

Each of our 21 cities and towns will have two Ambassadors, creating a network of 42 local champions across the region.
