The African Health Cup (AHC) is an annual soccer tournament that brings together African immigrant and refugee communities to celebrate culture while also:

Raising awareness about HIV, Hepatitis, TB, and STD prevention, screening, care, and research
Promoting testing and access to health services
Reducing stigma
The tournament was founded in 2010 by Augustus Woyah and several local African soccer coaches, including Sekani Nkhata, former President of the Zambian Association of New England (ZANE); Scott Mbaka, Head Coach of the Cameroonian local soccer team; and Mohamed Ndjikam, a Cameroonian community leader.

The first AHC featured six teams representing Uganda, Kenya, Ghana, Zambia, Liberia, and Cameroon. By 2012, the event had grown significantly, expanding to twelve teams with new participants from Nigeria, Togo, Guinea, Cape Verde, Sierra Leone, and Ivory Coast.
