Loading Dock Gallery and Pop Cultured invite the public to get a little opinionated this summer and wear their heart on their sleeves, or backpack, hat, jacket, as Hot Buttons returns, the third installment of the interactive collectible art event that turns strong feelings into wearable art.

Part exhibition, part social event, part collector frenzy, Hot Buttons asks a simple question: What really pushes your buttons?

From politics and pop culture to personal pet peeves, social commentary, activism, absurdity, and the tiny frustrations of modern life, artists channel the issues, ideas, and obsessions that get under their skin into original button designs for this lively group exhibition.

Selected original artworks will be transformed into collectible 1-inch pinback buttons, sold in blind bags through both Loading Dock Gallery and Pop Cultured. Attendees will build their ideal collections the old-fashioned way: by trading, bartering, and negotiating at the in-person trading event at Loading Dock Gallery on August 22nd. Additional button sales will continue throughout the exhibition at both participating locations.

Whether your Hot Button is political, personal, playful, petty or pointed, this is your invitation to collect wearable art that sparks conversation.

Hot Buttons will be open Wednesdays-Fridays 12–5:30 PM and weekends 10 AM–3:30 PM, July 29 through August 30. Join us for the opening reception on August 1 from 3–5 PM during Western Avenue Studios & Lofts Open Studios.
